The Salem Art Gallery/Satanic Temple Salem is seeking art of any medium. We are asking for work inspired by the moral panic surrounding gaming of all forms in the 90s and 2000s. Trading Card games, roleplaying games, and video games alike have caused moral panic.
To clarify, a moral panic is societal response to something viewed as a threat to existing social values and often is focused around themes of sex, language, drugs and violence. The reasoning comes from people's fear of changing order in society and would rather see things maintained. More often than not we see that these panics are focused on young people.
Despite no evidence to suggest video games in the long term make people more violent or more likely to do violent things, people still side with that argument. Use this to inspire your works.
